Echeveria ‘Cream Sugar’ – Delicate Sweetness
Echeveria Cream Sugar is a charming Korean hybrid that stands out for its soft, velvety color palette. It forms a compact, dense rosette with fleshy, rounded leaves that look like they’ve been dusted with fine sugar.
Its great attraction is the mix of pastel shades: the base of the leaves is a pale bluish-green or off-white, which transitions to peachy-pink or cream edges and tips. This coloration takes on greater intensity and depth when the plant is exposed to good light and cooler temperatures, revealing a delicate sheen and a marbled appearance.
Ideal for collectors who appreciate the kawaii aesthetic and delicacy of Asian hybrids, ‘Cream Sugar’ is a medium-sized succulent that offers a touch of sweetness and understated elegance to your garden or arrangement.
Growing Tips (Care)
To maintain the vibrant color and compact growth of your ‘Cream Sugar’ Echeveria:
- ☀️ Illumination (Light): Requires bright, intense light to display its best color. Direct morning sun (4-6 hours) is ideal. Too much shade will cause the plant to lose its pink/cream color and become stunted (have a long stem).
- Note: Make sure that the lighter parts of the leaves are not burnt by the strong afternoon sun in summer.
- Watering: Only water when the substrate is completely dry.
- Substrate: It is essential to use a substrate for cacti and succulents with excellent drainage. We recommend adding inert materials (perlite, pumice) to prevent root rot.
- ⚠️ Extra care: Don’t touch or wet the leaves! This plant has a protective bloom (the whitish powder) which is easily removed by touch, leaving marks and affecting the health of the leaf.
