Avonia alstonii is a dwarf caudiciform plant usually with the caudex buried to the brim and covered with dozens of silvery white stems.
The flowers are a delicate light pink and are the largest of the Avonias. This is the Avonia most sought after by collectors and is very slow growing, caudexes of 2 to 4cm can be several dozen years old and in the wild you can find specimens over 100 years old!
