Tylecodon buchholzianus is a dwarf, slow-growing, climbing, bonsai-like shrub.
The plant has a caudex, which qualifies it as caudiciform.
It is a winter-growing species; growth begins in the fall, but really starts during the first warmer days of spring.
It is very variable, with various forms, but as they are interspersed, it is difficult to classify them formally.
The shape and size of the leaves show considerable variation and in some plants they never develop. See our comparison of the size of pots we usually use and tips for caring for succulents and cacti here !
