Haworthia ‘Mordor’: The Living Sculpture

Meet Haworthia Mordor, a succulent that will transport any collector with its raw, dark and fascinating appearance.

Details that make it unique:

  • Obsidian windows: The tops of its leaves are truncated dark green to black, allowing light to enter the interior of the plant, reminiscent of the arid, rocky landscapes of Mordor.

  • Geological texture: The surface of the leaves is rough and tuberculated, with patterns that look like cooled lava or coral formations, giving them a tactile and visual aspect that is unusual in the Haworthias kingdom.

  • Alien Geometry: Unlike classic rosettes, ‘Mordor’ grows compactly and slowly, forming a living sculpture that seems to have been forged in extreme conditions.

Care:

Haworthia ‘Mordor’ is a slow-growing and extremely resilient plant, ideal for growing in well-lit interiors or niche collections.

  • Watering: Follow the rule for succulents: only water when the soil is completely dry. As a slow-growing plant, it tolerates periods of drought well, but is sensitive to excess moisture accumulating in the roots.

  • ☀️ Lighting: Unlike Echeverias, Haworthia prefers bright indirect light or filtered sun. Bright light is crucial to maintain the dark tones, but avoid direct scorching sun to avoid burning.

  • Soil: Use a substrate with excellent drainage, preferably with a high mineral content (such as pumice or perlite), specifically for haworthias and cacti.

  • ❄️ Temperature: Protect from frost. They prefer mild temperatures and environments with good air circulation.
