Greenovia aurea is a perennial succulent plant with rose-shaped rosettes and deep yellow flowers in spring.
Aeonium aureum (as it is also known) forms a hibernation stage in summer, with the younger leaves forming a dense, narrow cylinder, while the older leaves wither but are still attached to the rosette, further protecting it from drought.
Grown by succulent enthusiasts and the most cultivated Greenovia for its beauty, this species tends to be quite variable, sometimes creating several side shoots forming a sort of ‘bouquet’.See our comparison of the size of pots we usually use and tips for caring for succulents and cacti here !
