Echeveria Yokai
Echeveria Yokai is a hybrid bred in our nursery, obtained by crossing Echeveria Lauii x Echeveria Black Knigth, from which it has many general traits. The name ‘Yokai’ is influenced by the supernatural creatures of Japanese folklore, such as monsters, spirits and demons, which can be dangerous, beneficial or playful, something that does justice to its darker appearance but also delicate due to the bloom on the leaves.
Care and cultivation
- Light: Requires full sun or very bright indirect sunlight to maintain the compact shape of the rosette and intensify the coloring. Lack of light can cause stioling (elongated and weak growth).
- Watering: The “soak and dry” method applies. Water abundantly, but only when the substrate is completely dry, holding back a little in the colder months of the year.
- Substrate: Use a highly porous substrate with excellent drainage, specifically for cacti and succulents.
- Temperature: Adapts well to mild temperatures. It should be protected from frost and temperatures below 4°C.
. - Propagation: Relatively easy to propagate by leaf cuttings and offsets.
