Its name refers to the dramatic contrast between the blue-grey center (&#8220;Ice&#8221;) and the dark, reddish margins (&#8220;Dark&#8221;). <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Ornamental features<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Shape:<\/b> Medium-sized, compact, symmetrical rosettes.<\/li>\n<li><b>Foliage:<\/b> It has fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves, the leaves are coated with a <b>thin layer of bloom<\/b> (a natural white powder) which gives them a velvety texture and a <b>blue-grey or blue-green<\/b> base tone.<\/li>\n<li><b>Dark Ice&#8221; coloring:<\/b> The most striking feature is its intense color. When exposed to full sun or cooler temperatures (so-called &#8220;controlled stress&#8221;), the edges and tips of the leaves turn a <b>deep purple, dark red or almost black<\/b>, creating a fascinating contrast with the lighter center. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Care and cultivation<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Light:<\/b> Requires <b>full sun or very bright indirect sunlight<\/b> to maintain the compact shape of the rosette and intensify the purple\/red color on the edges of the leaves. Lack of light can cause stioling (elongated and weak growth). <\/li>\n<li><b>Watering:<\/b> The &#8220;<i>soak and<\/i> dry&#8221; method applies. Water abundantly, but only when the substrate is <b>completely dry<\/b>. <\/li>\n<li><b>Substrate:<\/b> Use a highly porous substrate with <b>excellent drainage<\/b>, specifically for cacti and succulents.<\/li>\n<li><b>Temperature:<\/b> Adapts well to mild temperatures.
